In 2008 Issa Hasan Albalushi began his career in hospitality as a Food Production Trainee at NHI.

He secured his first position as Commis Chef at the Marjan Asian Restaurant at Grand Hayat Muscat on completion of his training where he has enjoyed fulfilling work experiences between 2008 and 2010. During his time at Grand Hyatt Muscat Issa gained experience in preparing various cuisines through the hotel’s internal cross department development programme in different restaurants including Italian at Tuskani, continental at Moka, along with Asian and pastry.

Some of Issa’s greatest achievements include being the first Omani Sushi Chef, winning an award in 2009 by Oman Tribune, and his promotion to Chef de Partie, second in charge, at the Marjan Restaurant Grand Hayat in 2011. In 2012 Issa moved onto a new role at Al Mouj Golf Muscat as Chef de Partie, achieving promotions through to the position of Head Chef which he proudly holds to date.
