Yaqoob Jamil Al Balushi trained at NHI in 2004 where he completed an NVQ Level 1 in Bell Service.

Since he graduated from NHI he has worked at Grand Hyatt Muscat and the Radisson SAS Hotel Muscat in Food & Beverage operations, and achieved promotion to the position of Food & Beverage Outlet Manager. In 2005 he joined TAWOOS Industrial Services as Site Manager where he was responsible for the catering services for 250 rooms and from there he has been promoted to his current position of Project Manager of the permanent accommodations for contractors (PAC).

Yaqoob on job training was at the Chedi, Grand Hyatt and Al Bustan, as his hotel was not opened at that time. On graduation from NHI Yaqoob went to work for the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in the Al Waha Hotel and in October 2005 he started as a Bell Boy. After 1 year Yaqoob developed these skills and was recognized and promoted to Service Leader in Concierge. Then over the next four years he worked at the Al Nahda Resort and Al Sawadi Resort working further developing those skills to Assistant Front Office Manager. It also saw Yaqoob marry and he now has a three year old daughter. In 2010 Yaqoob returned to Muscat to take up his latest exciting role at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel as Chief Concierge. Yaqoog aspires to be the Resident Manager and then General Manager at this prestigious hotel. Watch this spaceā€¦..
