Jamal Al Balushi trained at NHI in 2004 where he completed a NVQ Level 2 in Food & Beverage Service. His on job training at the Chedi was a wonderful experience for him and prepared him well for the future.

He joined Shangri-la at the Al Bandar Hotel as a waiter in the Al Tanoor Restaurant. Over the next few years due to his professional attitude, hard work and development he was promoted in 2007 to Service Leader and in 2009 to Assistant Manager. He has attended several internal courses here in Muscat and at the Shangri-la Academy in China in 2008 and again in early 2010 for his Advanced Hotel Management Diploma.

Jamal aspires to a career in hotel Management, first as Director of Food &Beverage and then as General Manager. Jamal mojo is “don’t just sit at home vegetating, get up and do something”
